An international organization promoting families says California families have no choice but to abandon the public school system after Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a new “anti-discrimination” bill into law, effectively making terms like “mom” and dad” obsolete.
As WND has reported, some family advocates in California already had come to the same conclusion as that reached now by the World Congress of Families.

Sexually Transmitted Infections Soar in California
An estimated 1 million young Californians had a sexually transmitted infection (STI) in 2005, including one in every four to five 15- to 24-year-olds in Los Angeles County, researchers said Tuesday.
The study, reported in the Los Angeles Times, also found that the cost of treating the new infections is more than $1 billion a year.
“This is no surprise,” said Linda Klepacki, sexual health analyst for Focus on the Family Action. “California has insisted on teaching contraceptive-based sex education in their schools all along. They expect teens to be sexually active. They don’t raise the health standard to abstinence.

Teacher-Pupil Sex Across the World: How Much Is Homosexual?
Paul Cameron, Ph.D.
Family Research Institute
PO Box 62640, Colorado Springs, CO80962
Abstract: In news stories in English across the world for 1980-2006, 902 teachers engaged in sex with 3,457 pupils. Teachers engaging in same-sex sex constituted 63% of perpetrators in Ireland, 62% in New Zealand, 60% in Canada, 54% in Scotland, 48% in Australia, 47% in England, and 35% in the U.S.; in smaller samples, homosexuals accounted for 71% of perpetrators in mainland Europe, 26% in Africa, and 13% in Asia. Proportionately more same-sex sexual activity with pupils occurred in the West as compared to Asia and Africa. Most (54% of 810 male, 83% of 92 female) teachers violated only opposite sex pupils; 43% of perpetrators engaged in homosexuality; and 55% of victims were boys. Findings for each country or set of countries were consistent with U.S. studies based on superintendent report, principal report, self-report, and convictions indicating that a male homosexual is the most and a female heterosexual the least apt to have sex with pupils.

The New Girl Order
The New Girl Order
The Carrie Bradshaw lifestyle is showing up in unexpected places, with unintended consequences.
After my Lot Airlines flight from New York touched down at Warsaw’s Frédéric Chopin Airport a few months back, I watched a middle-aged passenger rush to embrace a waiting younger woman—clearly her daughter. Like many people on the plane, the older woman wore drab clothing and had the short, square physique of someone familiar with too many potatoes and too much manual labor. Her Poland-based daughter, by contrast, was tall and smartly outfitted in pointy-toed pumps, slim-cut jeans, a cropped jacket revealing a toned midriff (Yoga? Pilates? Or just a low-carb diet?), and a large, brass-studded leather bag, into which she dropped a silver cell phone.

Tony Blair is to launch an interfaith foundation early in the new year to combat religious extremism.
The former prime minister has held secret meetings with a number of religious leaders to finalise plans for the international organisation.
He believes it will help to ease tension between the world’s major faiths and tackle common misunderstandings, particularly over Islam.

New documentary takes unflinching look at abortion in US
Oct 11 09:33 AM US/Eastern
Few issues generate as much heat in the United States as the debate over abortion — the subject of a powerful and graphic new documentary by controversial British filmmaker Tony Kaye. “Lake of Fire,” currently on limited release in the United States, unwinds over more than two and a half hours of interviews with some of the leading figures from the pro-life and pro-choice camps.

Muslim Barbie hits shelves
INDONESIA (Reuters) – The Indonesian mother who created the Salma Muslim doll hopes the toy will help to inspire the virtue of modesty among girls.
28-year-old Sukmawati Suryaman’s Barbie-like creation is the latest must-have toy for girls in Indonesia. Head scarfs and ankle-length dresses are in – bikinis and short skirts are out.
Why do we have to be Muslim to be modest? Why does it seem so difficult for us in the Western culture to cover ourselves? This is scriptural….1 Timothy 2:9-10. This is a battle that the Christian woman really has to come to grips with. We are not to look or be anything like the world. We are to be separate. It would be quite a thought for us to have modest barbies…… I understand that the unsaved world will always be pagan. That is what the Bible says but I am addressing the Christian men and women who battle this topic within the Church.

Old Glory banned at presidential debate
Posted: October 9, 2007
1:00 a.m. Eastern
Baltimore is renowned for “The Star Spangled Banner,” written by Francis Scott Key when, on a British prison ship, he saw Old Glory still flying above Fort McHenry after several hours of enormously heavy enemy bombardment.
But that origin of our national anthem was then.
Now, recently at Maryland’s Morgan State University in Baltimore, which hosted Republican candidates for president of the United States – at what was titled the “All-American Presidential Forum” – the national flag of America was absent, having been prohibited by that incredible university’s authorities.
